DrinkMate, producer of a drink carbonator, wanted to claim greater market share through international expansion via online marketplaces like Amazon. To do so, the company needed creative support to position its key differentiator: unlike its industry-leading competitor, DrinkMate’s patented technology could carbonate any liquid (not just water). DrinkMate also faced another challenge navigating the rules and logistics of selling a regulated product (pressurized CO2 containers) on Amazon and internationally. DrinkMate selected Icon Commerce for our broad and deep expertise in Amazon marketing, advertising, and fulfillment.
Solution
To help DrinkMate expand internationally, our team guided the company through the legal and logistical complexities of shipping its product to Canada and the European Union. We ensured its international Amazon product listings met each respective region’s disclosure laws and regulations regarding the pressurized containers. And we optimized those listings to accommodate the shopping habits of DrinkMate’s international customers.
On the marketing and advertising side, we optimized DrinkMate’s Amazon storefront and product listings with videos, A+ content, and updated descriptions to make sure the product’s industry-disrupting differentiator was front and center. To date, we continue to manage DrinkMate’s Amazon advertising.
Results
Today, DrinkMate is sold on Amazon in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. In addition to helping DrinkMate carve out its share of these markets, our optimized listings drive continual growth for DrinkMate year over year. In two years, we’ve tripled DrinkMate’s annual total sales, quintupled its pay-per-click (PPC) ad sales, and lowered its advertising ad cost of sales (ACOS) in the U.S. market alone.
